Tehreek-e-Jaferia Pakistan (TJP), a prevailing Shia
group operating in Pakistan was established in 1992. The
beginning of TJP can be dated back to the Tehreek Nifaz
Fiqah-e-Jafria (TNFJ)- movement for the implementation
of Fiqah-e-Jafreia' which was established in 1979 to
safeguard the interests of the Shia minority. The name
of Tehreek Nifaz-e-Fiqah-e-Jaferia is being considered
offensive by the Sunni fraternity and is highly
criticized[8].
